Hotel Description
Blue Mountain Bird Farm is a working bird farm and for the last eighteen years we have been breeding many varieties of exotic parrots.Relax in one of our self-catering cottages and enjoy walking around the grounds and viewing the parrots; the peacocks and their babies, the rabbits that live freely in the garden or with the friendly family dogs.
Choose from one of the three cottages situated within our extensive landscaped garden. The cottages have full self catering facilities which include TV, air conditioning and braai facilities. Each cottage has one double bed and two single beds. The cottages are serviced daily. All linen is provided including swimming towels for the salt water pool. Come and enjoy relaxing next to the large swimming pool.
We supply tea, coffee, muesli, milk, rusks and fruit. Our borehole water is refreshing to drink and we supply a water filter for each cottage.

Unit Amenities
- THE GATEHOUSE is a separate house in the gardens with an open plan lounge/dining room and kitchen, two en suite bedrooms and a veranda overlooking the garden and aviaries.
- BON COTTAGE is a semi detached unit and has an open plan lounge/dining room and kitchen, two bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a private braai area overlooking a planted courtyard.
- JAX COTTAGE is also a semi detached unit and has an open plan lounge/dining room and kitchen, two interleading bedrooms and a shared bathroom. A veranda overlooks the garden and aviaries.

- The farm is ideally situated close to the NI highway, which makes it very central and within easy access to not only the wine routes, but also Paarl, Franschoek and Stellenbosch. Many wine farms offer tasting, sales and wonderful meals.
- There are restaurants, theatres, cinemas within easy reach. Outdoor hiking in the mountains nearby is also popular. The warm Indian Ocean beaches are a 40 minute drive away.
- There are many golf courses in the area including Pearl Valley, Boschenmeer, Paarl, Wellington, Devonvale, Stellenbosch, Klein Zalze, Erinvale, Somerset West and Strand.
- Cape Town and the Waterfront is a 45 minute drive away and the airport can be reached in half an hour.
