- Although Arniston is famed for the peace and tranquillity that one experiences while staying there, there are plenty of act ivities for outdoor enthusiasts. For the seafood lovers there are rock pools where you can collect oysters and other delicious shellfish. You can also bargain with the local fishermen or get out there yourself and catch a Steenbras, Galjoen or a mighty Mussel cracker. Days may also be spent walking the nature trails of the nearby De Hoop Nature Reserve, amusing oneself the sand dunes, and relaxing on the beach, swimming or surfing.
