The building of the hotel perfectly blended with the architecture of classical Petersburg, with its famous mansions, embankments, parks, courtyards-wells and cozy streets.The history of this building began in 1781, when the decree of Catherine II established the "small folk" school among the first schools in St. Petersburg. Vvedenskaya gymnasium was considered the largest educational institution.
The great Russian poet Alexander Blok studied at the gymnasium in 1891-189 8 years. Since 1910 the century studied here Sergey Vasiliev - Soviet artist, film director and screenwriter, director of the film "Chapayev".
