The city's guests have been able to stay overnight at Vester Voldgade 25 since the 1300s. First Hotel Kong Frederik was built later, in 1900, and has been continuously renovated in its original style. The hotel is named after King Frederik, 7th, who was loved by the people for his ability to perform both royal and gracious.
