Hotel Description
Bambi Cottage is located within the hotel grounds. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a shower over the bath, open plan kitchen, dining and living area leading out onto the lovely deep veranda and private garden. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed. The second bedroom has a double antique brass bed. All linen is 100% cotton and the duvets and pillows are down filled. The TV has local channels only. Guests are welcome to bring their own decoders to connect to the existing dish. Stanford is the quaintest village in the Cape – and one of the closest to Cape Town, at less than two hours drive from the city. It has the most beautiful river, stretching all the way down to the Hermanus lagoon. You can swim in it, kayak, float or launch a boat on it. The village is one of the few places left in South Africa with leiwater (not lazy water). You can float paper boats down it and keep your feet cool in it or use it to irrigate (lei) your veggie crop.
Stanford has a market square which is very rare, where we hold farm markets, play cricket and arrange the odd festival on it. The town is famous worldwide for offering the most bird species in one place in the world. Bring your binoculars and notebooks and take
